Well, that’s a wrap! That’s it for the month of May. What did you get accomplished this month? What were your major accomplishments?

I hope that you will take a few minutes to focus on what’s important for you right now. Be sure to schedule a few minutes for planning if you have not yet done so.
Here are some questions to consider as you move forward with your planning:

  1. As you reflect on May, what have been your successes and accomplishments?
  2. As you reflect on the summer, what have been your successes and accomplishments?
  3. What are you most proud of?
  4. What successes this month do you want to duplicate?
  5. What top 3 learning have you head that you want to carry forward?
  6. What key relationships have helped you so far this year? Which ones need more attention?
  7. What has helped your successes?
  8. What has hindered or gotten in the way?
  9. What does your team need to be acknowledged for?

    As you look to June, consider these questions:
  10. What are your key priorities for June?
  11. What are the key goals?
  12. What are the major priorities?
  13. What will you need to place attention on?
  14. What changes do you want to make in June?
  15. What habits do you want to leverage?
  16. When will you check in to explore your progress, and make changes?
  17. What resources do you want to tap into?
  18. Who can help you be successful this month?

This week’s Weekly Journaling Prompt brings us to the prompt of FLOW MEANS.

Flow is an important psychological state for well-being. As I shared back in Teams365 2434 in Weekly Journaling Prompt #114: https://www.potentialsrealized.com/teams-365-blog/teams365-2434-weekly-journaling-prompt-114

When we are able to tap into the river of excitement that can course through our body, and soul, it’s likely that we are tapping into that magical place called FLOW. At moments of flow, time takes on new meaning. Things may feel magical. And it’s usually a signal that we are doing the things we are MEANT to.

What are you noticing about FLOW moments?

What are you noticing about what you are truly excited about?

What do you need to say YES to in order to cultivate more of that?

What do you need to say NO to in order to create more space for the flow?

As we wrap up today’s post, here’s a quote about FLOW from the author himself:

Teams365 #2706 - Flashback Friday – Connecting to Context

Few weeks ago, I shared the Six Layers of Connection in Virtual Calls. One of the six layers of connection we are navigating in the remote space and can become more intentional around is that of connecting people with their context. 

A challenge with remote calls is that each person on a call will be surrounded by a different context. What do others need to know if you are working together? What discussions are important to have?

In contrast, when we are facilitating a group discussion where everyone’s context is different, what are we doing to help people connect in with their context, or what’s off the screen. So much learning can be “left” on the screen, rather than transferring back to our everyday work.

Consider these five ways to transfer your learning “beyond the screen”
  • Leave a pause for people to think about application, make notes, schedule things in
  • Consider the “arc of learning” where learning takes place over multiple touchpoints. When are you meeting again? Can you build in time to inquire about how people have used their learning and put knowledge into practice?
  • Are you creating peer accountability partners so that they can revisit the learning and talk about application?
  • Are you following up with an assignment or outreach for people to comment on?
  • Is there a journaling process?

Moving our learning beyond the screen into integration and changes to our behavior is key. What’s important to note for moving the learning forward?

Teams365 #2703 - Hybrid Team Get Togethers

As we move into what may be more of a hybrid workspace, intentionally building time for the entire team to come together is absolutely critical. Whether it’s scheduling an all-team meeting face-to-face quarterly or annually, helping the team come together frequently helps to keep people connected, and keep the team moving with each other.

Intentionality is a critical part of the hybrid working experience, intentionally creating practices which involve reaching out, and ensuring inclusivity of all team members, especially if they are not together.

Hybrid team get togethers – onsites or offsites – can focus on the two essential areas – building relationships and results – which may include a focus on:

Planning

Strategic Work

Get to Know You

Informal team time (to supplement water cooler time and spontaneity)

Real-time work sessions

Patterns and processes for work

While these sessions can often be facilitated by the team, it can also be useful to tap into skills of an external facilitator, who can free up all team members and also provide a neutral eye to help the team understand their internal dynamics.
