Leadership Development for Youth
Potentials Realized also provides specialized programming for youth and young adults through retreats and mentoring training. Examples in recent years have included staff retreat for the Toronto Youth Cabinet and Mentor and Protégé training for the Toronto CFA Society. This mentor training program won an innovation award in the financial services industry in 2008.
Potentials Realized founder, Jennifer Britton, started her career in the field of youth leadership, spending several years working as a Senior Staff member at a summer camp in Algonquin Park in the late 1980s and early 1990s. The first four years of her “professional career” were as an International Programs Manager and Project Director with Youth Challenge International a Canadian NGO specializing in youth and community development (youth from 18-25 years of age from Canada, Australia, Guyana and Costa Rica).
Jennifer also brings three years of part time work experience as a post-secondary Business Faculty member at the post-secondary level. A majority of her students were in their early 20s who have since gone on to start their own businesses and assume their own professional roles.
