#Teams365 #918: Foundations of Teamwork: The Skill of Influence

Today we are exploring the skill of influence as one of our foundations of teamwork. As team members and team leaders there are many times when the skill of influence is necessary. Consider these situations:
You are tasked with a special project and need to make a business case for more resources
You are a team member and really, really want to get a week's holiday for vacation - others in the team want it as well
Helping others on the team see the bigger goal and impact rather than individual contributions

The skill of influence is particularly inmportant when you do not hold "official power" as a leader given that you need to be able to work through the activities of others.

Consider your world of work recently, when was influence an important skill to have or use?
What examples come to mind as you think of when influence was well used?
What examples come to mind as you think of times when influence was poorly utilized?
