As a virtual or remote team leader it is important to be very clear and consistent. Given that people's touch points are not often as frequent, when team leaders are seen as being inconsistent team members may lose trust, become confused and be unclear. With this in mind it's important to be unwavering.
Unlimited attention is key, keeping in mind that it is impossible to "always be on". Virtual and remote team leaders will benefit from being clear with their boundaries around their availability. When talking with team members give them your undivided attention.
Finally, as virtual and remote team leaders it is important to create a unified team, while celebrating the immense diversity which usually exists. Operating from the premise that no one role is the same, no one has the same sets of priorities, opportunities ir challenges helps us to create a united platform - even it is not all the same!
Consider what united means for the team.
Have a great Wednesday,
Jennifer
