What are the strategic issues for the team right now?
How do these strategic issues vary from location to location?
What is the time window on strategic issues - 5 years? 3 years? Six months?
What is important to keep an eye on?
What support do you need from your team in order to do that?
Support needs in a virtual team are very diverse. It's important to consider each one of your team members and find out from them what their specific support needs are. Support needs may vary across the team in terms of how they prefer communication, amount and type of feedback preferred, amount of direct face to face vs virtual contact. This week take some time to ask yourself:
What type of support does each team member prefere?
What frequency of support is needed?
How am I doing with support to each team member?
