Consider the projects you have on the go right now. Are they on target in terms of time, cost and quality? If not, what needs to be adjusted to bring the project back on stream?
Here's a quick example. John is a team leader responsible for leading a special committee/project team on rolling in a new intranet. The deadline is end of First Quarter 2016 - March 31st. As he considers the current timeline, they are not on target to meet it.
In order to meet the deadline either the quality scope is going to have to change which could mean fewer resources available in it or repurposing current resources found in other areas rather than creating new ones. The other alternative to meet the deadline is to increase cost. That could mean putting some more human resources on the project, bringing in an external resource, or outsourcing it.
As you consider your projects right now, where are you with respect to the triple constraint. What needs attention?
Best wishes,
Jennifer
