Five areas you may want to keep an eye on as you get back to work include:
Personal and professional organization- Keeping your workspace organized and efficient can help with focus and productivity. Organizing efficiency cn include email management or paper management or even getting rid of the desk clutter that accumulates. What is one focus area you would like to put attention around this month?
Exercise - research is increasingly pointing to the health risks associated with a lot of sitting and sedentary movement which is common place in today's professional world. What are your goals this fall for exercise? Is there an opportunity this week to fit in one more activity whether it's at lunch or before or after work, Related to exercise is sleep. What changes, if any, do you want to make to your sleep routines?
Time management and personal productivity - sometimes time off helps us disconnect from some of the unhealthier routines we have adopted around time management, for example, checking emails constantly or not managing interruptions well.
Meeting management - A whole other category of opportunity exists around meeting management. What did you notice about meetings and their effectiveness over the summer months? What opportunity for change is there this fall? You can read past posts on meeting management here.
Keep posted this week as I explore some of these areas more in-depth with separate posts.
Best wishes,
Jennifer
