Today's post looks at the competencies or skills in the area of self-management, one of the four areas of Emotional Intelligence.
In Primal Leadership, Goleman, Boyatzis, and McKee, identify key skills in the area of self-management, namely:
Self-control
Transparency
Adaptability
Achievement
Initiative
Optimism
Questions to reflect on:
What does each of these skill areas mean to you?
What is important for you in these areas?
As you consider these areas which ones are your strengths?
What does each one look like to you in your work? Your leadership?
If you were to put attention around one of them which would it be? What steps could you take to strengthen your skills and awareness in that area?
Have a great week,
Jennifer
