Over the last 15 months I've included a number of time management posts along with weekly Check It off Tips. Finding the best balance of doing more with less in a strategic way is what many team leaders find as the terrain of time management. One post which many found useful was the sharing of the 4 D Model - Do it, Dump It, Defer It or Delegate it.
This week, consider how can you restructure your list of things to do according to the 4 D model - What does need to get done? Dumped? Deferred? Delegated?
Trust is one of the key ingredients for team and leadership acceleration. What is the state of play with trust in your organization. Last summer I did a series on different ways trust can be built, and also destroyed. You can view the series here (Teams365 #231 onwards)
What are the things which are building trust right now in the team? Taking away trust? What changes are needed?
Every team may have things that are taboo, are not done or spoken about. What's taboo on your team? What's the impact of this?
Talent development and training are increasingly going hand in hand. Just last year ASTD (the former American Society for Training and Development) rebranded as ATD (the Association for Talent Development). Building the capacity of our team members, through training, mentoring, coaching, are all important activities.
What's working well with talent development on your team? What development opportunities have team members identified? What training is needed to equip people with new knowledge, skills and experience?
Finally, teamwork is at the core of our focus here. Exceptional leaders are able to harness team work, through leveraging the 6 Factors, core skills such as trust, emotional intelligence, follow-through.
What teamwork skills are strong in your team right now? What's working well? What could use some attention?
Have a great Wednesday,
