Daily Steps + Consistent Action = Momentum
John Maxwell once wrote, “Small disciplines repeated with consistency every day lead to great achievements gained slowly over time.”
As I share in the 90-Day Guide For Success (page 54)
WHAT?
Consistency in business is important. Consistency in the remote space is essential, and even more so in an era of disruption. As things ebb and flow, consistent action can level out. In today’s noisy social space, it may take longer for things to be heard or seen. Part of consistency may not be doing more; it may be repurposing things. So, if you have developed something of value, for
example, an article, could it be repurposed into something else? A great example of this is an article I wrote for the Coaching Tools Company. Over the span of six or seven years, I wrote thirty articles for them. Many of these were repurposed from blog posts, videos, and other media.
Consistency also builds trust. It signals, “I can be relied upon. I am here for you in the long run.”
What things do you want to do on a consistent basis?
• Reaching out to your boss and other peers you need to relate to
• Scheduling meetings with stakeholders
• Reviewing your metrics
• Getting out of the office for energizing or working out
• Focusing on both results and relationships
• Following through
• Creating content
• Sharing something in the social space—do a series rather than a one-off?
