Being able to lead through uncertainty, complexity and ongoing change was a huge part of my role as a leader during my fifteen years in leadership roles wihin the international sector. Each day I'd have my contingency list and then a another list. It wasn't just a-z, but a cubed. The ability to be confident with uncertainty and to be confident in making decisions that would need to be changed along the way as the context changed were key lessons for me. These are in fact some of the conversations which are common place with my North American clients.
As leaders it is also important to notice the impact of change on our team members and to notice when they are facing change fatigue. Our ability to remain resilient is like a muscle. It can be strengthened, and it can get overused. Check in with yourself to see how you are doing and what needs replenishing, along with your team members.
