As I write in the book, “Keep things simple and take time to co-create with the team. In a team or group context, the complexity is with the group. When we are able to input our ideas, we feel a sense of ownership. Teams get activated when they are empowered.”
What does keeping things simple in your team look like? This might include:
- Minimizing meetings to core events that all team members need to be at;
- Simplifying processes
- Streamlining communication
- Saying no to non-essential tasks (after dialogue of course!)
- Focusing on one area of specialization rather than all
As I read in a recent article, in times of complexity it is not about being additive. It is about taking things away.
Enjoy your reflection!
