Think about the changes that you’ve seen in your working career. For me, it just seems like yesterday when my connection to colleagues around the world was through the fax. (Yes, I am dating myself, and it’s important to recognize that for many of us we have been working hybrid and remotely for many years by choice).
Jack Nille’s writing around telecommuting really ushered in the 1970s what was possible.
The 1980s ushered in some amazing changes in terms of the big PC devices lit by a green screen. I remember having a printer at our office which was huge in changing the way I submitted assignments the 1990s things became more mobile and my first laptop weighed in at a low 14 pounds. It traveled everywhere with me though it was the only thing that got on a plane with me.
In the 2000s we now experienced the era of the BlackBerry and our devices got even smaller. I sure do ushering in the smaller tablets finally the 2010’s mobility was on its way and all things were great for the space 2020 of course became the year of the pivot as 3 billion people went digital overnight.
What lies ahead when we think about what 2021 means? Are you virtual, remote or hybrid? Today there are lots of options for all of us, some working better than others. What is important for you as you move forward with workspaces in your area?
