Matrix management is a art form and skill-set in and of itself. Key to making matrix management work is:
- Clarifying roles, responsibilities and reporting structures - who will be providing direction on what?
- Identifying overlap and gaps
- Clarifying goals and priorities (especially if there are different perspectives on this)
