#Teams 365 #11 - Teamwork Quotation

Today's Teams 365 post is a quote from author Patrick Lencioni. His book, The Five Dysfunctions of a Team: A Leadership Fable is a must read for team leaders and team members. I, like many of other team developers, recommend this as a great resource to support teams in their development.

How does your team do with admitting mistakes, identifying weaknesses, addressing concerns without being worried about retribution?

In order for these things to happen there must be a foundation of trust within the team. What is the state of trust right now? What will help built trust within your team? Future posts will focus on this foundational team issue of TRUST.

I think that this definition embeds the essence of a team:

a) being confident in their capabilities and, hence, when failing have no problem to discuss together to find a new equilibrium. This weakens you only if you are not confident of what you can do together, otherwise it will strengthen you.
b) know that no one is perfect and though when failing is better to admit the failure rather than masking it
c) know that if a concern is expressed and analyzed, is a possible avoidance of a trouble. If people fear expressing themselves individuality is behind the corner.
