Virtual, remote and hybrid teams need a number of ingredients in order to thrive. As I share in Reconnecting Workspaces (Britton, 2021, p.41):

Trust among team members
The safety to raise issues that are uncomfortable
The feeling that others understand their work
Understanding of context and the bigger whole
Clear process on how to get things done

The ability to create connections with other projects/work being undertaken by others.
