This week we've dived into Day 4 of the 90-Day Guide for Success with its focus on Vision. Vision is one of my favorite areas to work with groups, teams, and individuals around. A vision serves as a compass, guiding us toward our desired future and helping us navigate the changes and challenges that come our way. Today's Weekly Journaling Prompt is all about vision.
Weekly Journaling Prompt: "My vision is..."
Take a moment to pause, reflect, and envision your future. Think about what truly matters to you and what you want to create in your life, work, or personal pursuits. Begin by writing:
My vision is…”
Allow your thoughts to flow freely as you explore this statement. What do you see when you picture your ideal future? What emotions arise when you think about where you want to go? Don’t censor yourself—this is your space to dream big and be honest about what you truly want.
To guide you further, consider this quote from Simon Sinek:
"Vision is a destination – a fixed point to which we focus all effort. Strategy is a route – an adaptable path to get us where we want to go." – Simon Sinek
Reflect on this quote. How does it resonate with you? What does it mean for you to have a fixed point or destination that you're aiming toward? How can you remain adaptable as you work toward that vision, especially in times of change or uncertainty?
Additional Questions to Reflect On:
1. What does my vision look like in the next year, five years, or even ten years?
Picture your life, work, or business. What has changed? What remains the same? What do you feel proud of achieving?
2. What values and principles are central to my vision
Consider the core beliefs and values that drive your vision. How do they influence your daily actions and decisions?
3. What small steps can I take today to move closer to my vision?
Think about the practical actions you can take this week, month, or year. What consistent steps will help build momentum toward your vision?
4. Who can support me in achieving my vision?
Reflect on the people around you—mentors, peers, or colleagues—who can support or challenge you to stay aligned with your vision. How can you involve them in your journey?
5. How will I know when I am living my vision?
Describe the indicators that will signal you are living in alignment with your vision. What will you see, hear, and feel? How will you measure progress?
As you journal, remember that your vision is uniquely yours. It is an evolving concept that reflects your deepest desires and aspirations. Use this prompt to reconnect with your purpose, clarify your direction, and renew your commitment to the path ahead. Embrace the possibilities that lie before you, and let your vision be the light that guides your way.
