#1 – I’m passionate about making the onboarding experience, and workplace performance, better for people at all stages of their career. In fact, my focus on onboarding goes back to the 1990s when a significant ingredient for my team’s success was around onboarding our team members and building a strong team culture.

I’m really excited to announce a whole new way to support your team members through the onboarding process via a new digital card deck, Deck 1 of the 90-Day Guide for Success, now available on Deckible. Check it out here
Here are 5 ways you can make onboarding more interactive using this card deck:
1. Provide each team member with a deck which they can use on a daily basis. 10-15 minutes of time exploring the four cards each day:
- One is the WHAT around the daily topic.
- The next one is a SO WHAT – what’s important about that and what conversations might they want to have (including some prompting questions in many instances)
- A quote related to the daily topic
- A short 1 minute video from me on the daily topic
2. Create a group coaching process for your new cohorts of people begin onboarded. This could involve people coming together to work with an external or internal team member to discuss:
- What they put into practice this week.
- Which of that week’s tips were most important for their role.
- What they learned.
3. Provide both leader and new recruit with a copy of the book or purchase the app for both. Encourage leaders to use the 90-Day Guide for Success app themselves and incorporate it into their 1-1 conversations. Each day includes a question that leaders can use the spark conversation on the bottom right of one of the cards.
4. Get new recruits going through the onboarding process to pair up with someone else, encouraging a weekly meeting for the two to compare notes on what they are using and finding valuable.
5. Book author and card deck creator Jennifer Britton to do a virtual keynote or drop in discussion with your new recruits, demonstrating how to use the tool or focusing on another key aspect of onboarding succcess. This could be a 60 to 90 minute session on zoom or your Teams platform.
